The most urgent need at this time is money for school expenses. Presume will need at least $1500 to get all the children started in school.

SCHOOL BEGINS SOON. It's almost time for school! Expenses were heavy this summer, because of the funeral for Presume's mother (as well as extra medical expenses prior to that.) Presume is very concerned about getting the school launched because resources are depleted. They will need basic supplies for their school, as well as salaries for the teachers. And, Presume must pay tuition for the older children who go to local high schools.

PASTOR PRESUME. Presume is now officially the pastor of the church that meets at the orphanage. He has joined a fellowship that includes 7 local pastors. We can call him Pastor Presume, which we will do in these news blogs. Pastor Presume is still working for the police department in Cap Haitien, also.
FEEDING PROGRAM. The church has been providing meals for 5000 people on Sundays. They started this program when earthquake refugees from Port au Prince began to stream into Cap Haitien, hoping to resettle there. Cap Haitien is Haiti's second largest city, in the north. The rice was donated after the earthquake, but they are nearly out of rice now. In addition to the rice, they need oil, spices and charcoal to cook with. The cost of the feeding program has been more than $300 a week, or $1200 a month. Which is a good price for 20,000 meals every month. Presume hates to stop this program because it's been a huge blessing to many desperate people. One woman told him that Sunday dinner is the only full meal she and her children get all week. If anyone wants to help with the feeding program, please let us know.

500 POUNDS! We sent 500 pounds of supplies to Haiti this month, which is currently enroute. We put a tarp over the pallet to protect it from rain until the truck arrived. Under the tarp are 23 boxes of fabrics, sewing notions, scissors, sewing kits, children's underwear, several boxes of shoes, Christmas toys, toothpaste and toothbrushes and lots more. Thank you to everyone who contributed goods and/or shipping costs. The pallet doesn't look very big in this photo, but it was piled up to the recommended limit and we all needed a nap when we finished the packing! :)

TALENTED GIRLS. This pretty group of girls has been learning to sing together. They even have matching outfits! They perform at local groups and churches in Cap Haitien.
